My first touch with coding was in the 90's, in my home country Finland. I enrolled in an optional computer science course on 8th grade, where we learned to build our own website in html. After that, many years passed and I built a career in health care. A few years ago, I became more interested in learning how to build websites and applications. The health tech boom and difficult times during COVID influenced this. The fundamentals of my own profession changed over night, and video appointments became a part of my every workday. I was fascinated by the possibilities in health tech.
I began to study open university courses and coding workshops, that had become readily available online during lockdown. About 1,5 years ago I relocated to Spain, and I'm currently working and studying remotely. Recently, I graduated from SheCodes, which is an amazing online front-end development bootcamp for women. My dream is to continue learning, helping and making people's lives better, using my new skillset as a front-end developer. I also love designing website UIs and logos using Figma. When I'm not coding, I enjoy travelling, hiking, movies and good coffee.
